Father’s Day gift from Jack to Jack’s dad, circa 1974.
Here’s to kids working their little asses off to make the coolest things they can think of for their dads this weekend.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad.

Dude, you scared me. I had to check to make sure Father’s Day isn’t this weekend!
Your ashtray is adorable.
Ummm, considering it’s an ashtray and all.

Yeah, 30 years ago or so dads smoking was pretty typical. There were many others in my class that were making ashtrays for their dads, too. Thankfully, a couple years after I made that he quit. And started running. Dude would go on to run marathons. And that probably saved his life 5 or 6 years down the road (more on that in the future, when I have the energy and time to write about it).
I’m just wondering why I have the ashtray and he doesn’t.
